About Eric
Note: When I put in my zip code, it sets my location to Port Graham when in fact I'm in Homer.
Received a bachelor's in physics in 2017 and attended some graduate school at Ohio State. Left due personal and family health.
I simply enjoy doing math and physics. I've been a tutor in various subjects since high school and find the work enjoyable. I love gaining new understanding in anything I can and I like to help others do the same whenever I can.
I have a bachelor's in physics plus some grad school work. I had internshipt at the Lunar and Planetary Institute, Brookhaven National Lab, and NASA. I also worked in data processing for LIGO and worked on a special type of machine learning at OSU.

First, it's important to understand what the student needs to get from the class. Most students take math and physics because it's part of their curriculum, even if they are going into biology, the medical field, etc. Many of these students have very little time to fully engage in their physics/math courses and that must be taken into account. Other students need more in-depth, concrete understanding of math/physics upon which future courses will rest.
Next, we have to understand the student's strengths and weaknesses. We all have them and working with them can help improve understanding more than trying to force the student down a norrow learning path.
During actual tutoring sessions, it's much more important that the student can explain (with help) the subject to me than it is for me to explain it to the student. I don't like to simply become a 2nd lecture. I've found that has very little benefit for the student.
