About Mackenzie

I am a student in the DaVinci program at Benjamin N. Cardozo High School. I have been a peer tutor since my freshmen year. Several of my peers come to me for help regarding school work. Teachers reccomend me to tutor struggling students. I am a well rounded tutor in that I can do several subjects. In school I take rigorous courses to challenge myself. I am very focused on my academic career. Helping others is something I really enjoy. My goal is to make sure the person I am tutoring really understands the topic to the extent that they too can teach it to someone else. I am very dedicated, responsible, and hardworking.

I am a high school student. I am a peer tutor at my school and have tutored at after school programs.

About the lesson

First, I would examine old tests and quizes. I would make sure the student fully understands the older material before moving on. If the student has any specific questions, I would answer those first as well. Then I would assist the student with any current homework or help them study for upcoming tests. To study for tests I would create my own problems for the students to solve or find a workbook or worksheets.

I have worked with students my age and younger. I have worked with children in middle school and elementry school.
