About Mohammed

I have been tutoring for five years now. My linkedin profile is attached below. You will find my resume on my profile. I have worked at tutoring centers and I have private tutored on several occasions. I volunteered for several months at Khans Tutorial, and then worked as an instructor at RQM tutorial. Following this, I private tutored many students. I got a position as an instructor at Kweller Prep and continued to private tutor students.

I have taught SAT courses, SAT 2 courses, and Hunter prep courses. I have taught every level of school material from second grade to college material. I excel in Computer Science, Python, C++, JavaScript, SQL, Swift, Web Application Development, SAT level math, Middle School math, Prealgebra, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, AP Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Earth Science, Expository Writing, Creative Writing, AP English, Essay Writing, World History, and AP World History.

I enjoy being the reason students finally make a break through in their learning. I enjoy questions stemmed from actual interest in the topics at hand, and I love breaking down concepts for others and helping them succeed. I want to provide help to others in any way I can, and tutoring is a service I am qualified to provide.

I have been tutoring other classmates and younger family members from a young age. My older brother worked at Khans Tutorial for years and eventually became a manager, and I decided that I would like to be a tutor as well. I began volunteering and quickly procured a position as an instructor.

I am a student at New York University. I went to Stuyvesant High School and was in Advanced Regent Placement classes in all of middle school. I have been an instructor at several tutoring centers: Khans Tutorial, RQM Tutorial, and Kweller Prep. I have private tutored many students in subjects ranging from second grade coursework to college coursework.

I start off as friendly but professional, introducing myself to students and letting them know that while there may be short breaks, the majority of our time is devoted to making sure the student learns. I make sure the student knows I am there to answer any questions he or she may have to the best of my ability and that he or she should not be afraid to ask me anything related to their coursework.

I have worked with students of many ages, the youngest being in second grade. I spent a lot of my time teaching middle school and high school students, but I have also private tutored college students.

I would make sure a student knows that a teacher he or she is looking to hire is not there to waste time. Socializing creates new friends but will hinder learning. Breaks here and there are fine, but most of the lesson must be spent going over the necessary coursework.

A student I recently private tutored complained before the lesson that his teacher did not do a sufficient job of teaching the course material (the class was physics). He was very scared he would fail his exam in two days. Following our lesson, the student felt very confident and was sure he would get at least a 90 on the exam, and he ended up with a 96.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should make sure they understand what their question is. Often I have had students ask questions on material they are not sure of, but they do not understand their own confusion. The key to getting questions answered is to ask the right questions. All questions are welcome, but it is more beneficial for students to understand what exactly it is that they do not understand.
