About Christina
I am a passionate tutor who loves math and science and would like to share this passion with others. Math and science can both be difficult concepts to understand but with my combination of standrdized lessons and creativity, I am confident in my ability to increase understanding. I have been tutoring both voluntarily and as job for about 14 years. I am currently a teacher and have my teaching credential. Currently I work as a long-term substitute teacher and have for the past 2.5 years.
The thing I enjoy about tutoring is the ability to work one-on-one, meaning more personal teaching methods can be created to fit each student's unique learning style and increase understanding of the subject. I enjoy when a student tells me, "OMG I get it now!".
When I started tutoring right after high school I learned that I enjoyed teaching students and help them achieve their goals.
I have been a tutor for 14 years working under the guidance of teachers.
I went to school and received my degree in Education and received my teaching credential from Cal Poly Pomona.
I have been teaching at different districts as needed and even long term subbing at middle schools and elementary schools. I have also tutored college students.
I am currently in the process of receiving my Master's degree from San Jose State University

Step 1: Meet and greet, evaluate areas support is needed in, and take a moment to get to know the student and their goals.
Step 2: Create goals for student to discuss with family, establish recommended time and amount of sessions to help, and establish a location best suited to help student meet their goals.
Step 3: Establish payment methods.
Step 4: Plan specialized lessons based on specific needs.
Step 5: Assess student progress half way thorugh and adjust lesson plans as needed.
I have worked with students of all ages from grades K-12 and college level as well.
My advice to any student looking for a teacher/tutor look for someone who loves the job on top of having expertise and experience because mood greatly affects the performance of the lessons.
I recently participated in my first parent conference for elementary level students, which is not much different from upper grade but I found it to be so enlightening meeting the parents and creating goals for us to help their student grow.

1, 60-minute session on zoom or in-peron is $50 an hour within 15 miles radius
-If location is outside my 15 mile radius price will be $65.
5 committed sessions is $200 an hour within a 15 mile radius.
-If location is more than 15 miles the price for 5 is $400.
