About Jasmine
I'm just your average high school student. I've tutored many kids in my math classes with them paying me about 10$ an hour. All of my students seem to really enjoy my teaching and one suggested I try being more professional with it because of the patience I give my students. I'm extremely patient with my students and while trig is my strong suit I can basically teach anything from pre-algebra to pre-calculus. I love seeing kids finally look at math as something to have fun with and understand instead of a continuously torturous experience. I know many kids aren't comfortable having an adult teach them so having someone their age, that understands the struggle and is willing to take the time to figure out their learning style helps a lot in the learning process. I also want my students to be completely satisfied with how they are being taught so if you have a visit and I couldn't help no payment is necessary.
It actually started in a chemistry class where I ended up basically taking over the teaching of my entire table group of 6 people, 2 of which had me teach them outside of class the rest of the year. Then in algebra I helped my table of 4 and a few others that would come over for occasional help and 1 of those asked for outside help. Then this year I actually started offering out tutoring for 10$ an hour for chemistry and anything from algebra to pre-calculus where I then taught 3 more students in chem and 1 in trig.
I've only ever done nonprofessional jobs for random classmates on the side of school. so far I've tutored 7 students continuously. I've kept a 3.8 gpa getting all A's in all honors level math classes.

About the lesson

I sit down with the student and the unit/subject they're getting help with, lay out the formulas and basic steps with example problems. Then practice problems raising in difficulty slowly incorporating new parts as you go. I teach the way I would learn until they seem like they aren't understanding then I correct my methods until I find one that matches the student.
Have what you want to be taught ready to show your teacher. whether that be a subject, unit in a book, etc. just know what you want from you teacher. At least in my case, having some preparation time to make a lesson plan helps the lessons come out smoother and faster than a "on the spot" sort of lesson.

Details
I usually have the first lesson free but if you enjoyed the lesson and want to keep me as a teacher I go on a 10$ an hour schedule. Tips of course much appreciated and for the first free visit in this case you'd have to come to me.
