About Cynthia

Hi! I currently live in the Roswell Area.

My rates are $30/hr in person. $25/hr online. This is just to provide for travel. All in person tutoring, I request that the student wear a mask, and I will also be wearing a mask.

A little bit about me: I have been tutoring in the Atlanta area since 2013 and would love to help you or your child succeed in a STEM subject.

I have experience teaching at the collegiate level in a Geoscience Lab, and I have taken Instructional Theory as part of my Master's Degree program.

In the past, I have tutored in Chemistry, Physical Science, Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Geometry, Calculus One, General Psychology, Geology and Geography. I have a MS in Geology from GSU and a BS in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences from Georgia Tech.

I think getting a student to understand the material and see that they can do the more complex mathematics and sciences is a powerful thing.

About the lesson

I usually begin an initial session with having the student walk me through whatever their current assignments are. I do this, so that I know the baseline with where we are starting, in regards to material and methodology for understanding the material. After the initial session, I like to know ahead of time what topics we will be covering so that I can come prepared with some extra problems and be ready to walk the student through the material step by step as slowly as necessary. I would say that my approach involves a lot a patience and kindness because the subjects I teach are difficult for a lot of people.
