About Tyanna
I am a high school Algebra 1 teacher with 3 years experience. I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor's of Mathematics and while obtaining my undergrad, I worked at Mathnasium. I also worked as an ACT/SAT tutor. During my teachings, I have consistently had 85% students pass the Algebra 1 STAAR on their first try. I love being able to help students understand and feel more confident about mathematical concepts.
I will provide quick, concise feedback and I will provide methodic teaching to those seeking a deeper understanding. Parent feedback is welcomed and I will adjust my teachings based on the needs of the student.
When attending the University of Texas at Dallas I particiapted in the UTeach program. Through that I received a teaching certificate certified to teach 7-12.
I graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas with a bachelor's degree in mathematics. I tutored at Mathnasium and I am also a tutor at Lagniappe, an ACT/SAT tutoring place.

I ask the student what they want to accomplish/what they want to get out of the tutoring session. I want to know what the students consider their "weak" areas so we can focus on those.
As a part of the UTeach program, I had to complete an apprentice teaching portion for a semester. It was the greatest experience I have had so far with teaching.
