About Eileen
I have been caring for children for over 30 years in many capacities: babysitter, teacher, nanny, coach, tutor. This is my passion! I come from a large Irish family with 7 brothers and sisters and 10 nieces and nephews. I have a unique ability to bond with children as they are my own. Not having children of my own, but aiding in raising MANY children, assists in this process. I am kind, loving, punctual, responsible, mature, and intelligent. Since graduating from college, I have worked as a teacher for 16 years, and a full-time nanny for 8 years (intermittently). My passion is Math. I am extremely well-organized and a master list maker (lol). I have amazing references and look forward to speaking with you about the possibility of helping your child reach hi/her fullest MATH potential.

About the lesson

Firstly, I would begin by learning what his/her needs are: filling in holes in his/her foundation or completing current assigned work or a combination of both. Then I would give an initial assessment to see what his/her current skill level is. Then i would make a sequential list of what skills are needed first. I would also assess the child's learning style: are they a visual, auditory or kinesthetic learner? Finally, I would give a variety of strategies for the child to learn each skill and allow them to choose which one works best for him/her. Using my past experience, I can simplify most lessons and break them down into smaller lessons as not to overwhelm the student. I will try to make it FUN and give praise and acknowledgements while boosting his/her self-esttem. Most students believe that they CAN't do Math. I love when they prove that they CAN!
