About Kimberly
I am a Special Education teacher with 3 years of experience in the classroom. I graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Special Education. I love working with children and seeing their "light bulb" moments. There are many ways to teach, but it the best way to teach is understanding what works best for the student!
I knew from a young age I wanted to work with students with special needs. I spent summers working at a special education center and volunteering during the school year. When I started college I worked in different classrooms each semester.
I am currently a Special Education teacher with 3 years of classroom experience.

I begin by getting to know the student's interests and their learning style. I then give baseline assessments to determine where the student is struggling, but also where they are succeeding. We will work together to build confidence on the skills the student is struggling with while using their strengths.
I have worked with students with special needs from the ages of 4-10. I have worked in a kindergarten and first grade general education classroom.
Find someone who is motivated to ensure you are confident and comfortable. They make sure you are understanding the content and not just doing this for extra money.
I am very proud of a recent break through with a student. This student came to me not being able to count past ten. Now, they are able to complete multiplication problems without assistance.
