About Penny

I love teaching and tutoring students. Teaching is really rewarding to me. My family can always see a smile on my face each day I tutor.
I started volunteer teaching in 1993 after I joined the military. I taught religious education and tutored in math and reading. I continued through my military career until I retired and returned to school and became a certified Librarian. I received my Masters in 2016 and I am continuing on with my education.

First session is free. It is used to see if we are a good fit.
I worked with students from the age of 3 to 90. I have taught face-to-face, group, and online. There is no one category I can place my students. I have taught students with disabilities, non-English students, non-tech students, reluctant and emergent readers, and honor students.
I have a student that started out reading March 2019 with me at a Kindergarten level. When I pulled his records he is now (May 2020) reading at a 3rd-grade level. I am so proud of my student because he is in 2nd grade.
