About Beth

I have been in the education field for 11 years. I am a highly qualified teacher who has worked with a variety of learning styles in the classroom. I have taught children from preschool to second grade; however, I have tutored children from kindergarten to fifth grade. I have a heart for teaching children and believe in partnering with parents to help children be successful. I also believes that while every child has a right to an education, each child learns differently, so instruction needs to be individualized to meet the needs of each learner.

I love working with children because they are so honest and ultimately want to be successful. I find that building relationship with a student is the best way to help them succeed. When they see that someone believes in them, they begin to build up confidence and tackle things that were once difficult. It is so rewarding to see the light bulb finally come on and the smile across their face when they realize they can accomplish something.

I began teaching when my son was 2 years old. I was trying to find a job where I could be a working mom who could spend time with her child. I began teaching preschool. I realized that I loved teaching, so I decided to go back to school to get my Masters in Education.

I have been teaching in the classroom for over 11 years with children PreK-3rd grade. I have my Bachelor's Degree in Christian Education, my Masters in Elementary Edudation K-6, my training in Orton Gillingham, and my K-6 Colorado Teaching Certificate.

About the lesson

For our first consultation, I set up a time to assess each student to determine what gaps they may have and where to begin helping them.

After that, I sit down and share with with the parents the results of the assessment and plan out goals for the student.

Next, I set up sessions either in-person or online twice a week to make as much progress as possible. Each week I communicate with the parents to ensure they understand what we are working on and what progress we have made.

I have worked mostly with students who have mild learning problems such as dyslexia, dysgraphia. I do not have training to work with students who have special needs or more serious learning disabilities.
