About Tina

1. I am currently in my senior year at Baylor University graduating as a Biology major. I am 21 years old and feel as if i can helps students of all ages excell in math and science courses

2. I was an immunology TA during my undergraduate carreer and have taken a specific course that works with teaching sciences, I have worked with a distinguished immunologist that does cancer research and have created study techniques that help students become organized and excell in their classes

3. Students that would come to my office hours would generally increase their grade by a letter grade which is scientifically proven with Learning Assistant research papers.

4. I have a passion for teaching and helping students, as it also is a learning experience for my self!

I found a passion for teaching in college when I would hold my office hours. My best friend has a sister in highschool that would also facetime me to ask me questions about general chemistry or math from Memorial High School. She would tell her friends about me and they all started to reach out!

I worked as a Learning Assistant/Teaching Assistant for upper level science courses at Baylor University.

About the lesson

I would first talk to the student and see exactly where he or she struggles, this could be in organization, content, or critical thinking. The basis of understanding content is understanding the basics and building up to detailed information and that is where I would start.

I have worked with both college students and highschool students, however I am also open to working with both middle schoolers and elementary school children that also need improving.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think the biggest area of confusion is students not even knowing where to start. They dont know waht questions to ask becuase they are confused on the overall subject and dont know where to begin. I feel as if i can be a stepping stone and help students become more comfortable with the material so we know where to begin.
