About Nalaya
I am a highschool student who has a passion for teaching my juniors subjects that I have learned in the past. At my high school, I have been volunteering as a biology tutor for freshman for three years now. I have also been helping as a math tutor at my school for all grade levels for three years as well. Given the opportunity to teach students, I will do the best I can to make sure that they not only understand the topic, but no matter what question is asked on the topic, the student will be able to answer it.

I have several different processes I go through when working with a new student. First, I try to understand what the student already knows about a certain subject. I let them tell me what they are having trouble with. Some of them know right away. For those of them that don't, I go through the topic step by step until I figure out the area that they are having trouble with. Once I have identified their weak point, I work on strengthening their confidence in said area by drawing pictures, doing examples, doing fun activities. After, I let them tell me what they have learned, step by step. I usually go over this several times to make sure they understand. Sometimes I will ask them a hard question on a subject and check their thought process.
