About Dan
My service is unique because every student is unique. I tailor how I teach to what each individual student needs- whether that means homework, structured learning, free learning, project-based learning, or any other method. I strive to create a comfortable learning place that fosters a love of learning.
I love seeing a students eyes light up when they finally understand a topic they have been struggling with. Seeing them experience the same passion that I had for learning is what I strive to achieve.
Tutoring is more than just learning content, it is fostering a lifelong love of learning!
I taught for 2 years while obtaining my Masters degrees, working one-on-one and in large groups. I also received tutoring training when volunteering at an after-school program for a few years.

I start off by understanding where a student is in their learning. This invovles a discussion of the content they need support with and what they have learned to date.
I often find that there are missing gaps from their past which need to be filled before we move on to the content they are asking for support with. Once these are filled, my students find learning comes much easier since they aren't operating without the tools they need to succeed.
I also like to cover preffered working styles so I can tailor my support to their needs, not my preferences. My job is to help them, however they best receive learning.
