About Austen
Teaching experience at the 4th and 5th grade levels. I pride myself on developing strong relationships with my students. I have a natural ability to connect with a variety of students and I always put my 100% in nurturing students in a way that helps them succeed academically.
I enjoy working with students and teaching them. It is a passion of mine working with kids and watching them grow and succeed not only in their academics but also as people. It inspires me to come to work everyday, and do everything in my power to provide my students a strong academic environment and one where they feel confident about learning in.
I was a substitue teacher and a coach in Connecticut after college. I fell in love with being with kids and being their leader. I decided I wanted my career to be in teaching. I then attended graduate school at Northeastern University and earned my Masters in Elementary Teaching.
Graduated and earned my Master's degree in the field of education from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Graduated and earned a Bachelor's degree in the field of Sports Management from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. Current work experience includes elementary teaching at the 4th and 5th grade levels, classroom management, inclusive learning in urban education settings and coaching. Capabilities include strong communication, dedication as an educator, outstanding interpersonal relations, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a strong work ethic.

Introducing myself and getting to know my student's strengths and weaknesses. It is essential to know your student. That will develop a close bond and the necessary component of trust to make learning successful.
I have worked with students in the inner city Boston area and I have also worked with students in areas outside of Boston.
I feel inspired by many of my students attending our class on Zoom during this difficult time. It shows my students want to be with their teacher and they want to learn with their class.
