About Luke

Hi I am currently a Math Specialist in an Elementary School. I specialize in helping kids improve their number sense and problem solving skills through conceptual teaching. I also am building a library of YouTube Videos if interested in free content to help your child grow!

I love to build connections with students and help them to grow in their ability to critical;y think and problem solve. I strongly believe in using these types of situations to help students be flexible with their thinking and improve their number sense.

I got into teaching because I love to help students grow and believe in themselves. I help facilitate this with my students by building a relationship and connecting to them.

I have a Masters in Education with an endorsement in Mathematics. I can help students of all ages up to 8th Grade.

About the lesson

When starting off with a new student I will give them a situation to problem solve and see what strategies they use and get an idea of their math process. Within these situations we will be working on developing a better understanding of numbers and how use number flexibility to greatly improve our mathematical thinking.

I have worked with all current levels of students and provided support to students with enrichment as well as interventions.
