About Alexandria

I am a high school Junior who is passionate about helping others! I attend Stanford University's Online High School, where I currently recieve A's in all of my subjects. And, I have been a peer tutor for students in an English course (Modes of Writing and Arguementation) at my school for the past academic year. So, I am well-qualified to help others with their classes.

I also want to mention that, though I only have formal tutoring experience with English courses, I have an expansive background in maths and sciences as well. Therefore, I am really able to tutor a wide range of courses.

Additionally, I have extensive leadership experience that has allowed to work with many people (my age and younger). I started and actively run a toddler reading program at preschool near me. And, I lead the UNICEF club as well as the Duolingo Circle at my school. I am enthusiastic and kind. And, above all else, I hope to make your learning experience more fun and so much easier.

I love the moment when a student has a great idea. You can see it in their eyes when something unique clicks into place. Often times, with just the right urging, it does not take long to get to this place. But, I really just appreciate the opportunity to work with others and see them shine.

About the lesson

First, I want to make sure that a new student is comfortable working with me. It is really important that we create a warm, welcoming working environment. 

Next, we must establish what the student is struggling with. I need to have a clear sense of what the student needs help with and what he/she already knows.

Finally, it just comes down to working together to master a concept. I feel that it is not productive to give a student the exact answer to the question. But, on a similar level, they should be guided in the right direction. And, ideally, they will need less and less guidance over time. 

Note: All of my lessons will be given online either through skype, zoom, or over the phone... So, I am avaliable often.
