About Natalie

I began tutoring when I was 16 years old and have now been tutoring for three years. I tutor in math, science and piano for students at any difficulty level. I graduated from Citrus College with an Associates of Science in Biology in Spring 2020. I am transferring to a University in the Fall and am looking for new students to tutor.

My tutoring services stand out because of my passion that I have toward teaching students. I myself have always been eager to learn new things, and I love teaching my students about the things that I have learned while in school. I cater toward my students needs and adjust my teaching methods to help them learn best.

I enjoy showing students that learning is fun! I break down the subjects and topics that they are having a difficult time comprehending so that they will understand why and how things work. My favorite part about tutoring is watching them fully understand a new topic well enough to teach it back to me.

I began teaching at a very young age because my mom is also a teacher. She runs her own preschool and tutoring services. I would go to work with her whenever I could and assist her and more imporantly learn from her. After watching her for so many years, I have adopted her teaching style.

I have completed my Associates of Science in Biology from Citrus College in Spring 2020. I am now transferring to University of California San Diego to complete my Bachelor's Degree in Molecular and Cell Biology.

I have always been a part of the honors Math program in high school and received A's in every math class I have taken. I have completed, Geometry, Pre-algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Trigonometry, and AP Calculus AB and BC.

About the lesson

When I begin working with a new student I like to get to know them first. I get to know their interests, extracurriculars and favorite subjects so that I connect with them and incorporate that into the way I teach. I then get an understanding of how well they understand the topic they are learning and adjust how specific I teach the topic, based on what they already know. I follow this process whenever we start a new topic. After I teach the topic and go through a few examples, I ask the student to explain the process back to me as he works through another problem to make sure they fully understand the material.

I have worked with many different types of students. I have taught piano to students as young as four years old, all the way up to thirteen years old. I have taught math to students ages six to seventeen. I have also assisted adults that have gone back to school in math.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should go through the topic they need help in by themselves first to the best of their ability. They should write down any questions that come up while they are reviewing so that we can go through each question they have.

Details

My standard pricing for in-person lessons is $25/ hour and I will drive to the student, either at a house or a neutral location to meet. Online tutoring is $20 and is conducted through Zoom. I will email a link to access the meeting. Zoom is a free site that does not have a time limit for meetings and I have had great experiences with it in other tutoring lessons.
