About Sophie
Honestly, I prize myself on fun. I teach little kids, so makin everything fun is a huge part of what I do. I will take the time to get to know any child beyond the academics we are working on.
Working with kids is the most fun job in the world. The best part is that aside from the academics, the conversations that go on between the kids and between them and myself are so unique-- and often hilarious. Seeing into a child's mind is a world I think all adults should get to revisit.
I always knew I wanted to teach. As a five year old I would print myself out "homework" and complete it, just so I could grade it! I originally went to school for secondary teaching, but was placed in a first grade classroom for student teaching and fell in love.
I am a Kindergarten teacher of 3 years, but have been working in schools much longer than that. I have worked as a classroom aide, a special education paraprofessional, and after school teacher. I have worked in public school and alternate school settings. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Early Childhood Development.
