About Anna

I love Math. I majored in Chemistry in College because it involves a lot of MATH! I have been tutoring students from middle school through college in Math and Chemistry since 2012. My approach is different with each student, because no one learns the same way. I'm an energetic mathlete who loves to watch it "click" for students. References available upon request. I look forward to working with your student!

About the lesson

The first, and most critical step, is connecting with the student. Secondly, I aim to understand how their teacher is approaching a topic so that I take the same angle to teach the concept. Math is great because there is only one answer (typically!) and you can get there a number of ways, so it's important that I align the messaging with how their teacher/textbook is introducing a concept. Then, we tackle the assignments or extra practice work, focusing on the most pressing needs first.

Ages 10 through 21

Look for someone who is going to have the energy and patience to make it fun while making the concepts click!

I really enjoyed driving up to Wyoming to see the total solar eclipse a few years ago. That was one of the coolest things I've ever seen!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Ask yourself or your student, "How will the time with the tutor be the most beneficial?" It's always better when the student knows exactly what they need help with when coming into a session.
