About Matthew

I can show you how to conquer the penultimate Pre-Med boogeyman: Organic Chemistry (1&2).

My name is Matthew Marx.

I received a grade of 100% in Organic Chemistry I & II at Arizona State University in Fall of 2022.

I was taught by an *outstanding* professor, a PhD who quite literally studied and wrote a journal on the methodology of teaching STEM undergrads Organic Chemistry (and the unique challenges that come with it). I have a deep understanding of fundamentals and heuristics which I believe allowed me to *master* Orgo I & II.

I have a unique approach, novel instruction, and comprehensive understanding of how to help you succeed in Orgo.

I am in the final year of my Biomedical Sciences B.S. with Philosophy Minor at ASU, and preparing to apply to MD-PhD MSTP programs for the 2024-2025 cycle. I decided to return to college just after I turned 30. As a non-traditional pre-med I sought to understand and demystify the process to becoming a Physician; this included absolutely crushing Orgo, so that is what I worked relentlessly to achieve during the course(s). And so I did - and so can you.

I am projected to graduate Summer 2024 with high honors. I have my first high profile journal authorship in pre-publication (Phylogenetics based cancer research in mammals) and am currently working on a second (Reproductive Cancer Research). I have multiple research poster presentations at scientific conferences on Cancer in Mammals using evolutionary approaches. I am also very interested in mathematics and have experience tutoring grades 7-12 in pre-algebra, algebra, algebra II, pre-calc, and calculus 1&2.

I pride myself in my ability to easily communicate with and relate to my students in any subject matter. With my specific 1 on 1 approach, I am very confident in my ability to break down seemingly complex subject matter into relatable (specific to EVERY student, meeting you where *you* are at is my specialty) content.

Lets get started drawing hexagons! (I draw a MEAN hexagon.)
