About Samuel
I have previously taught first and second year university students in Intro to Computers and Microsoft Office, specifically, Word and Excel. I taught for one year at Belmont College in St. Calirsville, Ohio. I take the time to ensure that students understand the material and provide as much direction as needed so that they may acheive their educational goals.
The local college was recruiting for adjunct faculty and I applied for the position of adjunct faculty in the Computer Science/ Technology department.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and have one year of experience in teaching univeristy level students Intro to Computers and Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.

I introduce myself and ask the student about their background and educational goals. I explain that my goal is to assist them in acheiving their goals and will assist as much as needed to ensure they accomplish this.
First and second year university level students and, currently, teenagers entering 8th grade.
Ask about their qualifications. I would even ask if they would be willing to give you a free trial. maybe 30 minutes or help with one assignment to make an informed decision on if that tutor is a right fit for that particular student.
My parents retired and relocated to Florida to enjoy their retirement years. Both having dealt with various trials (personal medical concerns and the daily trials of having kids and wrapping up their work lives). It's a scary thing to stop doing something you've done, daily, for 40+ years, but they took the leap and are pursuing new dreams without question.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Understand and be able to articulate what their needs and goals are. What concerns do they have with the problems they are currently dealing with in relation to their educational courses. What steps will the tutor take to assit the student with overcoming any problems they encounter.
