About Sam

I place a lot of care into finding the learning methods that work for each individual student, and staying flexible to effectively convey material to each student in the manner that works for them.

Nothing is more rewarding than witnessing the moment where a challenging concept finally clicks in the mind of a student, and they feel that they can confidently utilize the information.

I realized in high school that I enjoyed teaching while giving lessons to other students in my band program, and once I went to college I continued to teach privately.

I've been working professionally as a musician since 2015, I currently freelance around New England, and I hold a B.M. from Berklee College of Music in Brass Performance, and a M.M. from Berklee Valencia in Contemporary Performance and Production.

About the lesson

I always meet my students where they are in their development. I want to know what you're hoping to learn, your goals, and what kind of music interests you. Once I have a sense of who you are, then I'm ready to adapt to your personal learning preferences and to work together to find a strategy that will help you grow.

I've worked with all kinds of students and everyone in-between, from 8 year olds picking up a trombone for the first time, to adult musicians interested in improvisation and other advanced concepts and techniques.

Find a teacher that inspires you musically and encourages you to follow your own path, instead of forcing you to follow theirs.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
"What am I trying to accomplish and how can this person help guide me towards my vision?"

"Can this person fill all of my needs for a mentor that can help me grow"
