About Janet
My Masters degree is in Music, from Northern Illinois U. I have taught piano lessons for 46 years, and kids think of me as "Aunty Jan." I teach beginners, also intermediates. My Theory background is strong. My husband and I are active in Handbell ringing, and have given recitals, just the 2 of us, ringing duets and solos. Having a love of children, teenagers and animals, and have a good sense of humor. I'm told I am very positive and fun-loving. We give regular recitals which are kept informal, so nobody is too nervous. The emphasis is on learning and enjoying it! :)
Getting to know the students. Also seeing progress - as they play wonderful music that would have been difficult at one time, but after lots of practice and lessons, has become easy. And seeing their satisfaction and pride in themselves!
