About Amadou

I am a native French speaker and an educator with over fifteen years of national and international teaching experience.

I have developed teaching strategies (constructivist practice) and ethical positions (fairness for all) that motivate students and stir them to reach their individual potential. I am experienced and qualified to teach a variety of students, from the very earliest pre-kindergartners to advanced learners.

High standards of organization, planning and consistent use of assessments allow me to systematically facilitate growth and learning. My teaching philosophy privileges student engagement in order to attain student expression and philosophy prepares them to be global citizens.

Students must understand cultural norms and subtleties. Thus my strategies include direct instruction, facilitating age-appropriate literacy such as research and presentation and structured conversations intent on expanding student perception of the larger world.

With a dynamic and pragmatic goal to assist the students in their joyful growth and development and to inspire them to use their intellects as they create a meaningful and noble life.

I love teaching because I get to impart knowledge while learning something about myself. Teachers create lifelong, memorable relationships that a student will take with them while they derive direct benefit from our teaching. I'm delighted that I can help them achieve their goals. I make a difference.

I was born in Dakar - Senegal, West Africa. As you know it was a French colony and capital of the West French African colonies three hundred years ago. Nevertheless, other languages are taught such as English, Spanish, German, Italian, and classical languages: Latin, Greek, and Arabic. At an early age, I was an avid learner. I was profoundly convinced that teaching was my calling and will be the only occupation I wanted to do. Hence, the great thing was the education that will enable me to see within my daily work and to be on the same wavelength as my future duty will require. After I graduated High School, my ambition was to enter the Teachers’ Training College - one of the best in the Western African hemisphere - and to become a teacher of the French language, culture, literature and Francophone literature, and African Studies. My main objective was to provide opportunities and support for students to involve themselves in the challenge of learning another language.

I was very much driven to achieve a level of excellence in Education. Hence, because of those strong academic and profound professional backgrounds, pillars of my determination to make a difference in the life of mankind, I moved to the USA 25 years ago in order to fulfill my highest desire, finish a Master's and a Doctorate Degree.

I received a Bachelor's from the Teachers' College with Honors and a Master's from Pace University School of Education with Honors as a Kappa Delta Pi Honor International Society in Education.

I am a native French speaker and an educator with over fifteen years of international teaching experience. I taught French language and French Immersions at the City University of New York, some Language Institutes in New York and Schools Of Continuing Education.

About the lesson

I design lesson plans and associate materials incorporating technology when required. I Create a new program allowing the student to immerse himself in the French language to learn new words and grammar more efficiently and effectively than the typical introductory courses.

I provide assistance to him urging him to participate in various activities. I develop respectful and meaningful relationships in a positive learning environment where he feels accepted, comfortable and ready to learn. I praise him, enlighten his inner greatness, help him understand why he is here and his expectations. I connect what he learns to real-life - french immersion -, create classroom games that hook his interest what always motivates and engages him by establishing meaningful relationships of individual learning styles, passion, motivation, and ability. I include his prior level of knowledge.

I have worked with a variety of students, from the very earliest pre-kindergartners to advanced learners, all genders and different social statuses and backgrounds.

Being a godfather and mentor of a multiracial child - Japanese mother descent and Caucasian father American descent- is one of the biggest honors I will never forget in my life. seeing him growing and graduating with excellence has become one of my points of pride (I said it with humility).
