About Margret
I have been a Cultural and Language Instructor of Icelandic with the U.S. Department of State, Foreign Service Institute for over 10 years, charged with teaching U.S. Diplomats designated for assigned postings in Iceland. I use a wide variety of innovative language teaching methodologies and techniques, stressing enhanced speaking, listening comprehension, and reading skills and have assisted ambassadors and foreign service officers in becoming proficient in conversing and reading on topics such as politics, the economy, and environmental issues in as few as 10 months.
I like getting to know my students and seeing them master the Icelandic language is very rewarding. I have made lifelong friends through my teaching.

I tailor my teaching to each individual student's goal and level of proficiency. It is important to know how much time the student plans to allocate to their Icelandic studies - I give them tips how they can incorporate their language learning into everyday life and use downtime effectively. I will also provide worksheets and material as needed.
