About Dawn
Teaching since 1998, I opened DawnArt Studios LLC in Midtown Atlanta 2015 and started teaching classes and workshops there. Atfer teaching at colleges and art center, such as SCAD Atlanta, The Atlanta College of Art and Spruill Art Center. It has been wonderful to bring classes into my working studio, I have all the equipment, great lighting teaching material always available. There are storage bin in the studio for students to leave materials and painting from week to week. My studio classes are ongoing and students have a full year to make up classes.
Dawn earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting at the University of Georgia and has attended the William Bray Art Academy. Dawn has done numerous commercial and private commissions as well as scenic and film work.
As part of the 2006 High Museum of Art Louvre Atlanta Summer Teaching Institute, Dawn designed and taught a workshop titled Self Portrait: Fit for a King, creating a lesson plan for students in grades K-12 that is now available for educators nationwide.
I have been teaching for over 15 years and I love helping other reach their individual goals. Color is a passion of mine. I also like getting out doors to paint plein air. I enjoy working with all levels.Join me if you can.
