About Dan

I've been a professional artist for over 25years, initially as a commercial illustrator.

I've rendered art in national and international publications for Hasbro corp, Lucus Films, Disney, Scholastic books, theater posters and the like, as well as Olympic and wildlife art for foreign postage stamps.

Five years ago I opened my first art gallery in Rockport Mass, one of our countries oldest and revered art colonies. I've since been painting Plein Air (out in the open air) from nature and discovered a whole new painting experience that I just fell in love with! Exhibiting in galleries as far as Laguna Beach Ca. and recently winning the top awards in the North shore art association and a Cape Ann Plain Air competition. I've included a few samples of my work attached here for your review as a sample of what I do.

About the lesson

We're not striving for perfection the first time out were striving for new knowledge every time we do a painting. Good paintings are an accumulation of what knowledge we gained and apply to a work from our past experiences... For most of us it can be years some of us weeks and there's the lucky few that see it in days...
