About Matt
I worked at the University of Louisiana with the men's basketball team as an undergraduate assistant for three years and also was an assistant strength coach at Vanderbilt University with the men's basketball program for 18 months. Prior to college stints and the private sector coaching I coached AAU for the Hub City Hoops program for 2 years coaching the middle school and high school programs Louisiana my home state. During my time at the university of Louisiana, our team developed two NBA players Elfrid Payton (NBA lottery pick currently playing with the Phoenix Suns) and Shawn Long (Philadelphia 76ers).
I played point guard at the college level as a walk on at the University of New Orleans for 2 years. I played high school basketball at St. Thomas More and Brother Martin high school. At Brother Martin high school prior to hurricane Katrina our school was ranked #4 in USA today and had 6 teammates receive full ride basketball scholarships including D.J. Augustin current point guard for the L.A. Lakers.
