About Timber

I have 11 years of playing experience for basketball including at the collegiate level. I was also a key player in a top 10 Indiana 3A team in the 2015-2016 season. On top of that I also have 11 years combined of cross country and track experience which also includes at the collegiate level. I was a top runner for 3 regional placing teams in Indiana during the years of 2012-2014. I am currently going to college to do sports ministry. So right there you can tell what my passion is. I have a love for God and a love for sports. I want to be able to share those with everyone the best I can. I love to play the game and I love to teach it to others too. What I teach is from years of experience and learning through coaches, books, and online studies.

What I enjoy the absolute most is seeing someone else succeed. Nothing brings me more joy than being able to help someone else achieve the goal that they set out to accomplish. Knowing hat I was a part of the process is enough reward for me.

I had a coach in high school actually ask me if I would help him coach some younger students. Since then I have been asked by players for advice and asked by a school to coach also.

First learn what fundamentals they have and build those up. Then move on to the more difficult techniques from there. Without a firm foundation one will never succeed. If Allen Iverson's best move was a cross over and could drop people to the ground, then what more reason do you need to learn the fundamentals of the game?

If it is cross country, then building a base is the same approach. Work on distance running and building the endurance. Once that is achieved we start working on speed.

I have worked with students at all different levels and ages. I currently help with a 5th-8th grade team. But I have also coached down to 3rd graders and up to seniors in high school. I have even helped a few military friends get in shape and ready for their deployment.

The game has changed over the years. To be the best you have to stay with current techniques and strategies. I'm fresh out of college basketball and cross country. I know what is going to work better than most. Because I have tried and failed and succeeded at the college level. I also regularly workout. I constantly learn new techniques and strategies to train the body to its max potiental. If you don’t believe me I can sit down and talk to you about my journey. Or I can send you to people I have trained and they can show you their own story from the help I have been greatly appreciative to be able to help them with.

A friend of mine from high school who is a couple years behind me and is a junior right now contacted me and asked for advice and tips on how to better himself for the up coming season. But also how to just get overall in better shape. It was great getting to help him and great to have him come to me personally about it.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What do I want to get better at? What am I willing to do to get there? How hard am I going to push myself?
