About Mike

Exercise is an art as much as it is a science, and if you are going to succeed, you need sound fundamentals. I teach all of my students 1 thing: how to be successful. It is a formula that can be applied to anything in life. Exercise selection, instruction, and programming are all pieces to the puzzle, but they are technical aspects. Keep it simple. Be a student. Do the work. Leave the rest to me.

Building lasting relationships and helping clients become self-reliant. Every coach should be able to teach a squat or correct a push up.. that is our job. I am proud to have seen clients achieve "bucket list" goals - hike the Grand Canyon, move to Bali to surf, and get a college scholarship.

I graduated from Gettysburg College in 2007 with a degree Health & Exercise Science. I interned in a Physical Therapy office and well as a Strength & Conditioning Sports Performance facility and decided I wanted to work with active populations.

About the lesson

I have 10+ years experience as a coach, but zero experience as YOUR coach. The better I understand what has and has not worked for you in the past, what you are willing or unwilling to do, the shorter the learning curve, and ultimately, the faster we will achieve success together.

From youth, high school, college and professional athletes to inactive, injured and obese populations

Compatability and communication will go much farther than expertise. When I first started coaching, no one understood the "language" I was using except other coaches who had the same educational background. Now I teach my clients to understand what that information means using simple analogies and real life examples. Find a coach who you trust- a coach cannot help you with what you are not willing to share with them.

I just did a hike in the Catskill Mountains. I'm all about an active lifestyle and healthy diet, but the outdoors is where I find peace of mind.
