About Walt

I have a pool player for over 40 years. I would love to share my knowledge with new (and veteran) players.

A player is always learning. Pool never becomes boring or routine.

I have been teaching privately for many years and would like to share my knowledge and derive a modest income in this venue.

I have been a consistent player since the 1980's. I have had instructions from many excellent teachers.

About the lesson

First order of teaching is a string presentation of basics. I build on the basics to help the player to develop a smart and sophisticated presence at the table. Student will come to my apartment and use my pool table. I can come to student's location, if they prefer to learn on their table.

I have worked with young and old and all in between. I prefer to work with beginning players to develop good skills as many of the veterans players may be set in thier ways and not open to change.

I met a young teen at one of the local billiard parlors. He was a shooter showing potential. He would get very upset with himself when he missed a shot or lost a game to another player. I talked with him about his technique and his attitude. Mostly attitude. Never let your last shot bring you down as it will reflect on your next shot, your game, and your happiness. Even the greatest of players miss shots and lose games. But they don't carry the losses forward. Especially losses that may have cost them tens of thousands of dollars.

The main question is to themselves: How strong is my desire to become a great shooter and to accept instructions?
