About Kathleen
My name is Kathleen and I've been teaching photography for almost 20 years! I love teaching and currently am a Senior Lecturer at Loyola Marymount University and an Instructor at New York Film Academy in Los Angeles.
The best part of teaching is meeting new people, talking about photography and helping my students improve their craft and artistic vision.
I began teaching when I was in graduate school. From there I was hooked and haven't stopped.
I have an MFA (Masters in Fine Arts) in Photography from Virginia Commonwealth University. I have been teaching photography at the college and university level since 2001.

I have worked with all types of students - from young to older, international, American veterans, people with learning differences, and every color under the sun. I have taught for summer art programs, junior colleges, and universities. My students range from
Look for someone you feel comfortable with and who you feel has the skill set you need to learn from.
I am a fan of cosplay events, such as the Renaissance Festival, Comic-con, and historical sites. I also go to as many art events as possible, either festivals, museums, or galleries.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Write down in order of importance what you want to learn. Such as how to use your digital or film camera, how to work with available and/or artificial light, and how to edit your images.
