About Shany

My name is Shany and I love chemistry. My goal is to help you through this challenging subject. You may even find that chemistry is in your future after having success in your current course. I graduated from Dominican University in 2017, as a chemistry major with honors. As a current student in pharmacy school, I have tutored students of every skill level, recognize areas more challenging to students, and have had success helping young people become more familiar with the field of chemistry.

I have a passion for chemistry because when I first started learning the subject, I struggled to truly understand it. I went to drop in tutoring, private tutoring in order to get a grasp of the material we were learning. I had a one-on-one tutor who helped me pass all my tests which made me feel proud and appreciate Chemistry. From then on, I decided to switch my major from Biology to Chemistry and go more in depth by taking more courses relating to the subject. This made me realize that I also want to help people who were in my situation, and help students feel proud by knowing they too can succeed in science!
