About Valerie

I studied at BYU......an AWESOME experience!! I've been playing the piano since the age of four! Throughout my life I have performed and won competitions in many events. I have been teaching (all levels of piano) for over 30 years, and I love it! I also play and teach bassoon, guitar, flute, and trombone, but currenty I am just teaching piano. (I have also enjoyed teaching singing/voice lesson as well).

I am great at realizing how EACH student best learns (ALSO, how EACH likes to learn) and catering to their learning. But most importantly, we have FUN on our lessons! Piano is a beautiful talent, and it's even better when you learn/play in a fun, relaxing environment. If you want to learn for fun, or want to be a competitive/Pro player, I'm the teacher for you!!

I Love working with students of all ages! I thoroughly enjoy working with everyone and the different levels that come with it. But my absolute most favorite part of teaching piano is seeing the growth from my students. I love hearing each student’s goals, and seeing them accomplish them all and more!! THIS is what I want for EACH my students! THIS is what brings me great joy!!

I started playing when I was four. As a teen I had many friends, family friends, and adults that knew me and asked me to teach them. I started teaching lessons as a teen and never stopped!

I studied at BYU.

I have taught piano lessons for over 30 years in home and in many studios.

About the lesson

I want to know what the students goals are. Some students want to compete, and others want this as a fun hobby. Depending on what the goal is, I cater to the students goals. We start from which ever level you feel comfortable at (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced) and we build from there.

ALL AGES! From ages 4-90, I have worked with all levels and all ages.

Make sure it is a good fit, and you get what you're looking for. Don't hesitate to ask questions! This is a great journey for you, make sure it's with someone great!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Am I willing to drive to the teachers home?

Do I want them to come to me?

How much am I willing to pay?

What is my goal? Hobby? Fun? Competitive?
