About Kedrick
I grew up around music; from composing and music theory, to playing in orchestras, small groups, and concert bands. I may not have gone a traditional rout or gotten degrees, but after teaching myself such a broad range of instruments I've seen the short cuts and similarities between them all, so I know what it's like to start from scratch. I've taught myself many things, and now I believe I'm ready to begin teaching others too.
My favorite part of what I do is helping others find what they love about music.
helping friends I played in groups with improve was a gateway of sorts that got me into helping others to learn.
I've taught myself instruments and music theory regularly since I was young. My experience with composing and playing in groups has gave me a unique insight on instruments and how they play off of each other.

My typical process for working with new students is to guage their current musical abilities, find them a repuitour of music that progressively increases in difficulty, (preferably music they're truly interested in since I believe real passion and interest is the best motivator) and to zero in on their struggles or weaknesses; teaching them useful skills and growing their list of recital ready pieces at the same time.
Friends and peers. During my times as section leaders in various groups I've always done my best to help those around me.
Make sure something sets them apart. For me I would recommend someone to help you find what you love and ignite a genuine passion in what you're trying to learn. No matter the difficulty, if you really enjoy something, then the right perspective can make it something to look forward to instead of just another chore or lesson.
