About Rita

I have been working as a teacher for 38 years and 10 years at my piano studio in my neighborhood. During this time, dozens of children and adults have received musical education for all levels.

My Master's Degree in Music was in the former Soviet Union. I am also a member of the National Music Teacher Association. My teaching is well known at the Greenhill School, Brookhaven College and as an accompanist for the DFW Ballet Company and many other ballet companies in Dallas.

About the lesson

Educating students to perform on a musical instrument is a year-round endeavor at the Rita Shusterman Piano Studio. We focus on a long-term knowledge and skills gained by the student, looking beyond the horizon to that time when the student will eventually be able to entertain themselves and others.

Length of Lessons: Generally, the lesson is 45 minutes in length, one time per week, at an established appointment time. Young beginners may not need a full lesson; therefore, the lesson can be shortened to 30 minutes if necessary. More advanced students may take up to a 60 minute lesson.

It is very rewarding and truly enjoyable for me to help those who would like to develop and open up worldwide musical culture treasures.
