About Hollie

Pa. Certified teacher with a Bachelor of Music Education from Seton Hill University and a Masters of Art from Indiana University of Pa. Teach students from 5 years old through adult.

I started teaching at seven private schools, traveling to the schools so the students could have the opportunity to take lessons while they were there.

I have a Bachelor's of Music Education from Seton Hill University with a piano major and voice minor. Master's of Arts from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with an emphasis on music education and music publishing. I have had my own piano studio for 25+ years and have taught at Westmoreland County Community College, Allegheny Community College and Pennsylvania State University/Eberly.

About the lesson

Every student is different. With a new student to the piano, I would spend more time explaining what to expect and how we would proceed with lessons. A transfer student, I would spend more time with finding out where he/she was in their level of playing so we could make good decisions on how to continue their study.

I have taught from kindergarten through adult. Individual lessons as well as group piano lab lessons.

Research the background of the teacher. If you're going to invest time and money, make sure you get the right fit for you. You want a teacher that not only is a master of their instrument, but also can teach it.

Details

Studio rates are paid monthly: half hour lessons per month/ $130, hour lessons/$260. There is an option of payments based on individual needs, multiple students from the same family, etc.
