About Brienna

My philosophy is that it is important to teach students to be well-rounded musically. We don't just practice to perform. We practice theory, sight reading and technique as well. I want to give my students a solid musical foundation.

I love watching students work hard and progress, and it is so rewarding to see them learn to love music!

I started teaching when I was in the 7th grade! My piano teacher offered a pedagagy class, and I started teaching a few very young students from my neighborhood.

Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance with an emphasis in Pedagogy from Weber State University.

About the lesson

When I start a new student, we assess theory, sight reading, technique and repertoire, and find where the student needs to work in each of those sections. If a student is transferring from another teacher, it takes a few lessons to get comfortable in each area.

Young beginners and transfer students, teenage beginners and transfer students, adult beginners and transfer students.

Meet with the teacher in person and find out all you can about them and their teaching stye. If possible, ask to see recordings of them teaching. You can also ask them to perform for you!

My family (husband and toddler) and I just traveled to Belgium and the Netherlands for two weeks. It was an adventure!
