About Joe

My instruction is based on a hands on approach of combing ear training with music theory so that my students can achieve ANY goals they desire.

I enjoy watching a student gain control of music so they can play and perform any kind of music that interests them!

Teaching friends when I was young, then training in college to teach professionally.

I have 30 years in music teaching experience, am a college trained teacher, and also have 30 years experience as a professional performer and musical director/conductor/arranger.

About the lesson

Basic piano technique, reading music, plus ear training.

I also incorporate music theory.
Student chooses a song or style, and I show them how to learn it by ear, as well as write it out and read it.

All kinds of students. From beginners at a young age, to beginners who are older in age, to advanced students of all age groups.

Be sure that ear training is involved. Understanding music theory and using your ears is the most rewarding way to approach music!
