I started teaching while I was in college learning how to teach.

I graduated from Western Kentucky University with a B.A. in Music Education.

About the lesson

My typical process for a new student is an introduction to the piano keyboard to understand how it works and the pedals. Then we start with basic rhythm pieces to feel comfortable playing. Depending on how fast the student learns, we learn the keyboard geography and then on the staff. I use a fast progressive method that helps students reach their goals.

I have worked with all ages and all interest to enjoy the fun of music.

Be sure you understand the goals your teacher gives you so you can improve. It can be frustrating to think you understand what you play and then walk out the door and not be able to do it again.
