About PAMELA

*Move Over Mozart has taught over 4000 students in the Seattle area. *Experience and excellent reputation since 1994. *Specialized curriculum designed for as young as 3.5 years old *Experienced teachers with ongoing training to keep current on latest teaching trend. *Uses latest technology to enhance and motivate children's experience. *Allows children (and parents) to set their own pace. *Perfect program to "try-out" piano lessons. *Advanced teachers for the "serious" piano student. *Month to month payments, no semester or year contracts. *Achievement levels for all children of all ages and abilities Until physical classes are safe again, all of our classes are conducted online. But these are not your typical "public school zoom" classes. Our teachers meet one-on-one with each student and give interactive lessons over a music designed streaming platform. We offer short videos that can be viewed at any time, and an interactive practice app that increases student daily practice time.

Move Over Mozart has been teaching in the Seattle area since 1994. Our goal is to provide quality lessons that are convenient and affordable so that every child interested in piano has the opportunity to learn. Pre-Covid-19, we offered small class instruction at schools and community centers. Now we use technology to offer the best online classes for young children.

All our teachers are chosen for their expertise in working with young children. Of course, they also are experts at the piano. They get ongoing training on best teaching techniques and latest ways interact with young children.

About the lesson

It is best to start with an online interview or free assessment. This gives the student a chance to see what can be expected and the teacher a chance to place the student at their appropriate musical level. We also offer interviews with parents to ask questions and get a demo of our interactive practice app.

Beginning ages 3 1/2 to 12 years old and intermediate or older students in a private lesson setting.

Rapport is the most important thing between a teacher/student and parent.

We offer free piano parties (online) for anyone interested in finding out more about our classes and for students to have additional opportunities to perform. Our parties include a theme, interactive lesson time, and a story about a composer from history. Most importantly, our piano parties are fun!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Know what you are looking for in a teacher. Are you looking to learn a specific style of music or song? Make sure your teacher can teach you that. Also, are there any characteristics you admire in teachers. Look for those same characteristics. Again, rapport is the most important thing in a teacher/student/parent relationship.

My daughter has been learning piano from Move Over Mozart for about 3 yrs now, first at our local community center and now remotely. And I can't believe the progress she has made considering the course is taught via app and the online one-on-one lesson being only 8 mins long. My daughter did not play piano or read music before taking her first class here and now she can.

A few months ago I would not have believed that virtual lessons for a 4 and 6 year old would have worked out well, but this has been a great experience for both of them. Not only have they enjoyed it, but they've stuck with it!! Highly recommend!

My son joined Move over Mozart about a year and a half ago and we have seen almost immediate improvement is his piano skills! The transition to online piano lessons has been smooth and Miss Pam was amazing at finding learning platforms that provide the best experience for student/teacher. Miss Pam is very good at assessing a student’s abilities and interests and adjusting her lessons accordingly. She makes the lessons fun and challenging. I would highly recommend her as a piano teacher.
