About Alexandra

A pro singing pianist working in the New York area for 20 years, who also has been running a private lesson studio for many years. In addition to performing weekly at Don't Tell Mama's Piano Bar, I have also played on cruise ships and for numerous clubs, concert halls and private events. And I've worked as a music director for shows and accompanist for musical theatre. I combine my teaching with my life as a working musician and have knowledge of many styles of music. I love to work with students of all ages and to tailor lessons for whatever is appropriate for the individual.

In addition to many years of performing an teaching I hold two music degrees, one in classical instrumental performance from England, the other in Jazz Vocal Performance from City College New York.

About the lesson

First we will meet and discuss their interest. I will assess their level and start to come up with ideas for individual instruction designed around what they would like to do, whether it's basic piano in a variety of styles, theory, technic, using the voice, improvising, etc.

contact me for rates. My fees are very affordable and I will work with your budget to ensure it is within your comfort level.

If you are not sure exactly whom you want to study with or what you want to focus on meet with a number of teachers and find someone with whom you are most comfortable. Perhaps try out several lessons before committing to one teacher. The teacher's style and method is as important as their knowledge.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
