About Robert Louis
As a classically trained vocalist and teacher, I can help you realize your musical potential.
I can help you overcome pitfalls and hurdles many singers run into in the path to their success, and offer insight in my years of performing, not only as an operatic soloist, but also in choral and church settings, and even more contemporary and popular music.
Although my area of specialty is in classical singing, I can also offer piano instruction at a beginning through intermediate level, as well as guitar instruction. I can also offer one on one instruction of music theory, and musical understanding, either alone or incorporated in the instruction of voice, piano or guitar.
You may elect to have a lesson at your home, within reasonable distance, or at my well equipped, comfortable studio, where I have access to reference material, and the latest applications and technology to help you.
My ultimate goal is to put you at ease, as you comfortable reach your potential. My method of instruction is straightforward, but aslo one where I use encoragement, humor and rapport to help you develop your music.
I welcome students of all ages, kids and adults.
I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in both Music Education and Vocal Performance from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam.
My performance venues have included Opera Philadelphia, Connecticut Grand Opera, Providence Opera, Mid Atlantic Opera, Carnegie Hall, Dicapo Opera Theatre, several national tours, and church soloist positions.
As teachers, we are not only mentors, but aslo students ourselves.
With one on one instruction, or small group instruction, I can learn from you, as a student and that helps me learn your best learning style. I am cognizantly aware there is no one size fits all for learning, especially for music.
I particularly enjoy suporting my student's musical growth, in a kind, relaxed environment.
Finding the breakthrough; the "thing" that works for you, the thing that will put your musical growth on the upwards trajectory is the victory.
