About Nico

Hi, My name is Nico. I am currently 22 years old, a psychology major student studying at Western Connecticut State University. I provide different levels of training for pupils that are new to the piano or have been previously trained. I also enjoy spending time with kids and teaching them music. I mainly do one-on-one skype session now for my lessons due to the covid-19 virus. So feel free to contact me via my email (concealed information) or text me thru (concealed information)

I attended a music school in Hong Kong when I was 13, taught by teachers that were professionally trained in Berkeley college of music and the Royal Academy of Music in London. I have been playing the piano since I was four. With an ABRSM grade 8 certificate. I am also blessed with perfect pitch, which allows me to play any songs with just a few listen. I have won a decent amount of awards growing up.

About the lesson

For a new student, I usually start by teaching them the basics. Including music vocabularies, what the notes are called, which keys are which notes. After that, I would introduce the student with chords, this will provide the student with the knowledge of finger placements as we practice. And most importantly, I will teach them how to read scores and sheet music. As for students that were previously trained, I would gage their ability the first lesson and tailor them with sheet music according to their ability.
