About Max

I offer highest quality music lessons. What differs me from my competitors is my level of education. I recently received my Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Miami, where I studied Vocal Pedagogy and Performance. You will not find an equally qualified instructor outside of the university setting in this part of Utah, guaranteed. I have performed all over the United States, Central and South America, and have extensive training in all genres of vocal music. As a pianist, I have been studying since I was 5 years old. I employ the methods of Body Mapping in my teaching extensively, which is an outgrowth of the Alexander Technique. My knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the body as related to music will not only teach you to play the instrument you want to learn, including voice, but to master it in your own body.

Everything. Music is my life and I love teaching people of all ages about the many facets of it. Music is the highest form of communication and as artists we should love what we do. I use that philosophy as a guiding principle in my teaching.

About the lesson

For voice students, I typically first find out what kind of music the student wants to sing, then I recommend books and materials from there. I am comfortable teaching all styles, all genres. For my piano students, I primarily start with Alfred and Suzuki's piano method books, supplemented with whatever other music that the students want to learn.

Basic standard pricing:

Piano lessons - $140 per month (30 minute weekly lessons)

Voice lessons - option 1: $140 per month (30 min weekly lessons)

option 2: $200 per month (1 hour weekly lessons)

Composition/Songwriting lessons: $165 per month (45 min weekly lessons)

Music Theory/Ear Training Tutoring: $140 per month (30 minute weekly sessions)
