Finding The Briar Thomas Conservatory has truly been a blessing! We signed up our youngest daughter for piano lessons here and quickly saw that this facility is much more than just musical lessons. Amora the owner goes above and beyond with not only obtaining the best instructors, but providing a fulfilling experience for the entire family. Amora is so professional, kind and talented. My daughter looks forward to going to her lesson each week, to continue to learn from her. Ms. Amora is an incredible teacher with an incredible program! Lessons with her are a highlight of our school week. My children thrive under her gentle and patient guidance and she is an absolute wealth of knowledge and expertise. We all love to spend time in her cozy and tranquil studio. She was able to provide our family with a piano for at home practice free of charge (an expense that had prohibited our children from taking lessons in the past) and the amazing studio field trips are another huge bonus. The classes are extremely helpful and I have learned a lot about singing techniques in just a few months while working with Ms. Amora. She’s extremely knowledgeable and very encouraging to her students so I couldn’t have chosen a better place to take singing lessons.

Ms Amora has built an incredibly well rounded music education program. She goes beyond your basic 30 min music lesson to connect her students to music and the arts in the broader community through experiences that involve not just students, but their families as well. She also provides opportunities for her students to connect with each other and build relationships, study composers, recitals, and compete. Amora's specialty also includes working with students who are neurodivergent and may need, or even require, different approaches. We have watched our Autistic son pick back up after an 18 month step-away from music (due to both Covid and the tragic loss of his first instructor) and flourish with Amora. She is warm, supportive, encouraging and works to help each child feel motivated to achieve. She truly is building an incredible well-rounded music education program- not just detached cold 30 min lessons. She is a gift to the community.

I would be remiss to not start by saying there is not one thing we don’t love about Ms. Amora. She is simply amazing, not only in her ability to reach children from all ages and backgrounds but also meeting students no matter where they are at scholastically. Amora has a beautiful and professional studio which helps even the smallest students feel special about what they are doing. She is an exceptional communicator and has a very special ability to bring groups together, all the while leaving every single individual as if they are the most important guest. Truth be told there is simply not enough space for me to tell you all of the exceptional and wonderful attributes that make Ms. Amora so special. She is by far not your average music teach. My son has Apraxia and didn’t speak until he was 6. His speech was very forced, and monotone. Amora works with him to teach him breathing, as well as intonation. She has made huge progress with him when his speech therapist were stumped. The progress he’s made has been because of the love and care she pours into her students. She is gentle and calming for those who need it and strong and firm in her dedication to her students. Amora works tirelessly at bringing joy and lifting up others and the impact she has on our family will last a lifetime.

I am in my mid-50's and have played piano since I was a little girl. I met Amora several years ago when I purchased goods from her homestead. That one purchase morphed into a beautiful friendship very quickly. Amora is kind, genuine, thoughtful, and so full of love that she makes everyone’s life brighter. I love visiting her at home and walking in to see the kids’ school projects hanging on the walls and sitting down to listen to her play the piano with one of her babies on her lap. Amora is a fantastic teacher. She's was my first piano teacher and I've had lessons from other teachers too but Amora is by far my favorite. I was about 12 when I started piano and I'm in my 20's. She is very understanding and she is patient. She knows what she is teaching and she is very adaptable to student's learning styles too. How do I know this? I happened to job shadow her as well for a school assignment and I watched her teach different people. All the students I've seen loved her. I feel the same way. I have known Amora for the last 3 years. We met when I was still a student completing my fieldwork in Pediatric Occupational Therapy. Although only an acquaintance at the time, Amora was so kind to me and went out of her way to show me positivity and encouragement when it was clear that I felt like I was in over my head.
