About Emily
Hi, I’m Nanda. I’m a senior at NYU. I major in public policy and minor in music. I am passionate about helping students in the subjects they are struggling with and making them feel better about their abilities to perform well in school and academics in general.
In my free time, I love to write waltzes on my laptop with Musescore and crochet from time to time.
I took Algebra 1 in high school and received an 85% on the Algebra 1 Regents exam.
I have done Intensive Intermediate Spanish at NYU. I received an A in the course. I also took the Spanish Regents exam in high school and got a 94%.
I have taught multiple students how to play the piano. I have also learned to play the violin. I was part of my high school’s symphonic orchestra as a sophomore.

I like to help people improve their skills. This makes tutoring a gratifying experience. When done well, tutors want to continue assisting others. Seeing progress excites me and makes me want to encourage students to reach their potential.

I ask them what they are looking for in tutoring. Unless they have a specific problem (think a math question) they need help on, I'll ask them what they think their strengths and weaknesses are and assess their skills from then on. If the student is young, I coordinate with the parent and ask them what they think their child needs help with.
