About Rachel

Our goal is to help students enjoy a life filled with playing music that inspires them. We focus on understanding how to play songs from audio or from sheets. Theory is applied to songs that people love. We customize our lessons to help you reach your music goals.

I started teaching in my teens at the request of some of my friends and neighbors.

Since graduating college, I have served as music director at various churches in Minnesota and Oregon. I have been teaching piano with four different companies during this time. My passion is equipping people to play the music that they love.

About the lesson

As a new student, you will learn some basic melodies of songs that are familiar to you. We will also work on chord rhythms that you can sing for him to if you like. We will work to combine these two concepts to solo piano style bike YouTube covers of songs. Each lesson we will also spend some time playing from a method book to work on reading music notation.

I have worked with students of all ages from preschool to retirement.

I would say a student should feel comfortable working beside their instructor. I would also say the student should enjoy the style of music that this instructor performs.

One of my most favorite recent events was our spring concert. I love hearing students share their music and seeing families come together to experience this special time with their student.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should decide how much time they would like to dedicate to practicing each week. They should also be equipped to study with videos and apps etc. that are great resources to us today.
