About Bryan
A native of New Jersey, Bryan Lin (b. 1991) is an internationally-performed composer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. His works have been performed by groups including the San Francisco Choral Artists, Princeton Singers, Lehigh University Philharmonic Orchestra, Monocacy Chamber Orchestra, Lehigh Valley Repertory Jazz Orchestra, and San Francisco Conservatory of Music New Music Ensemble. Bryan’s voice as a composer is frequently influenced by his love for jazz, with an affinity for chamber and vocal music. Listeners have praised his compositions as “good” and “really cool.”
An avid educator, Bryan works in the SFJAZZ Education department, visiting schools around the Bay Area to assist their jazz programs and serving as an instructor for saxophone, clarinet, and piano students. He is also the Festival Director for the Hot Air Music Festival, an annual day-long new music marathon held at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, entering its eighth season. In his spare time, Bryan can be found passed out sleeping in the library or on a sidewalk.
